Rolled Rice Noodles @ Hawker Hall

It’s good, and the vibes are cool, though definitely more value-for-money at an actual hawker center.

Tsukemen @ Tsukemen Tetsu

Cool noodles and rich, warm dipping broth tastes great in the summer. There’s several places throughout the country, but I ate at their shop above Nagoya Station.

China Airlines Braised Beef Noodles

It’s been years since I’ve been to a China Airlines Lounge. Their beef noodles are still as good as I remembered!

135 Bowls of Soba

Wanko Soba is local delicacy up in Iwate prefecture, where it’s an all-you-can-eat fare of (initially) tasty noodles. Azumaya gives a nice incentive to eat 100. Safe to say I beat a friend’s record of 127 over lunch. I ate quickly but my pace slowed to a crawl at around the 95 mark and I felt horrible towards the end. The sides definitely helped with refreshing my palate.

Funnily enough, I was peckish again by around 10PM.

Sudah Lama Beta Tidak Berjumpa Dengan Kau

TL: It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you.

With the new bullet train, I took this wonderful day trip to Bandung.

Mandu and Kalguksu @ Myeongdong Kyoja

Cheap, tasty! Perfect to round out a night of shopping in downtown Seoul.

In all seriousness, these noodles are great. If you visit Japan, try going off the beaten path and visit the Goto Islands (the noodles’ namesake), off the coast of Nagasaki.

Mie Goreng w/ Trimmings

Mie Goreng w/ Trimmings
My take at a fusion ‘gado-gado’ and fried noodles.
