Having had lots of Japanese curry, it’s no surprise that the best one I’ve ever had is in its spiritual hometown. The restaurant has downsized from its former glory days, but at least they’re still cooking. It’s about an hour by train from Tokyo, though it’s well worth it.
Visited a “temporary location” since their actual stall was under construction at the time, but they’re in Tokyo’s Monja Street (along with a lot of other monjayaki places) if you’d like to give them a taste!
Definitely the best duck confit I’ve tasted so far. Reservations recommended.
Try it the next time you’re in Sydney!
