A Bluey Christmas

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, whether you’re freezing your butt off in the north, getting your tan on in the south, or somewhere in between.

Qantas’ Salt and Pepper Squid

A staple of the First Class lounge, I’ve repeatedly failed to get a taste since I’ve only ever visited the lounges prior to morning flights (and they don’t serve it during breakfast). Nonetheless, I’m very fortunate to encounter it in the Hong Kong lounge just as I was about to leave!

Up and Away!

Fine Medal Craftsmanship

Up close, you can see even the etched names of the soldiers. Taken at the Royal Australian Mint.

Pinball High Score

In retrospect, this might not have been a well-played machine, making the high score thresholds pretty low.

Sydney Seagull

It’s deciding which dinner table to go “MINE!” over.

Bonus!

Mastering my way through a different arcade game. I do love the resurgence of skill-based bonuses and jackpots.

Airport Breakfast

Had to ask for a morning glass of champagne because it’s at a lounge and it’s free.

Chicken Shop Snack Pack @ Northern Soul Chip Shop

The great spice bag place also features a changing weekend special, and this one is something I wish they’d have throughout the week.

Pitmaster Plate @ Coal Blooded Griller

The brisket was tender af, and the barbecue sauce provided goes very well with all the grilled meats. Corn was surprisingly buttery, and the chips are definitely the more-ish kind. Finally, unlike a lot of BBQ places I’ve been, I love the calm, quieter vibe here.
