Oroshi Soba and Sauce Katsudon

Cloudy and overcast day when I stopped by in Fukui on the way towards Toyama, and this local speciality definitely hit the spot.

Stone Lanterns

Taken at Kasuga Taisha.

Tsutenkaku Tower

During my visits to Osaka, I seem to be always be drawn to this place around sunset, probably because of its proximity to Nipponbashi and Denden Town (the Akihabara of Osaka). Finally took the journey up the tower to take in the views. Pay a little extra, and you get to take a slide down the bottom-third of the tower!

Okowa, Katsu and Gyoza @ Yonehachi

Even outside of Japan, I still flock to Japanese food, like this one at the basement of Takashimaya.

Porchetta Roast @ Alimentari Collingwood

Tomb of the Unknown Australian Soldier

Taken at the Australian War Memorial.

Todaiji Temple

Not pictured here is the many deer I fed outside! Will bunch that into a whole deer explosion of a post soon. 😉

China Airlines Braised Beef Noodles

It’s been years since I’ve been to a China Airlines Lounge. Their beef noodles are still as good as I remembered!

Windows

Inside the main hall of Taipei Station.

Super Nintendo World

Entering through the green pipe tunnel, it felt like the color saturation had been turned up once you properly enter the park. It’s not just for looks too, you can interact physically with the park and gather coins from doing things like punching lucky blocks to playing the various minigames. Mario fan or not, I recommend setting aside 3-4 hours here to explore the area. It’s definitely going to take up most of your day at USJ, so probably get a 2-day pass if you also want to go to all the other parts of the park (e.g. the Harry Potter world).
