安静 → Ān Jìng → Quiet (calm)
Today, I’d like to talk about another unique aspect of Beijing that I do not particularly like. Like many developed countries, it knows to set proper paths for pedestrians to cross among cars, though the difference between them and other developed countries are the length (or lack thereof) cars go through in order to observe them. Even as I and others cross the street, on a pedestrian green light, the 车 and 摩托车 (motorcycle) still honk and attempting to cross the pedestrians. Hence, I say unto the vehicles of Beijing, could you please be quiet?
