Due to a whole ordeal at check-in, rushing to the gate for boarding, refusal to buy overpriced meals on a budget airline, and a late night arrival, I didn’t get to eat a proper meal again for quite some time.
Tokyo (the Tokyo Tower made it obvious). Not really sure where this is, but probably the alps in Central Japan, since the Gassho-zukuri houses in Shirakawa-go are visible in the background.Nagoya (“Nagoya Rock Festival” in the foreground).Osaka (the Glico “running man” sign is a giveaway).I decided that the huge model of big Japanese cities should have it’s own post. It’s not a scale model, but it does a good job of capturing the major landmarks, in addition to the train network.
I was hoping to catch the Sakura in full bloom when I was in Nagoya or Tokyo. Alas, the unprecedented weather changes threw the blooming schedule far out of proportion, and I left before the blooming season properly started in the central and eastern regions. At least I did get to see patches of it blooming in certain spots, from Nagoya Castle to Ueno Park. Maybe next year…
Not a train geek, but these limited-edition 38000 yen Shinkansen-style shoes are gorgeous. Was contemplating either buying these ones, or the flashy yellow one on the left. Went with the latter.Purchased from the Onitsuka Tiger Omotesando store.
