Strawberries on the Train

They’re delicious, but it’s admittedly harder to eat that beauty.

Nara Deer!

I find them even cuter than the ones in Miyajima Island. For one, they’re furrier, and also they’re trained by the monks in the area to bow for food. When you’re up in Nara, get some deer crackers (senbei), come up to them and say “ojigi” while bowing to get them to bow, then feed them.

Do keep a grip on (or pocket) your crackers, since they aren’t trained to not bite them right from your hands without your permission. The male ones can get a bit aggressive and literally pushy too.

Not pictured here is the many deer I fed outside! Will bunch that into a whole deer explosion of a post soon. 😉
