Fireworks @ Victoria Harbour

With the fireworks canceled in Hong Kong for New Years, glad I got to see it from the water last hear.

Jerónimos Monastery

Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba

Forest Glade Gardens

Gotta soak up all the color before spring turns to summer.

Swirly Water

Taken at Darling Harbour. Typing “swirly water darling harbour” gives the actual name of this water fixture.

Hida River in the Summer

It’s not very remarkable, but the view is just refreshing as you travel along the train lines between Nagoya and Takayama.

Statues of Conan Town

Hokuei in Tottori has really branded themselves around two major things: Detective Conan (Case Closed) and Watermelons – their local fruit speciality. Makes sense for the former since its renowned author, Gosho Aoyama, was born and raised there. The statues scattered around town are just one of the ways it rebranded around Conan – with Conan Road, Conan Bridge and even the town’s train station – Conan Station! The copper statues look weathered but solid, and the painted statues really look pristine!

Tottori Sand Museum

It’s beautiful, intricate, and yet ephemeral, as the exhibits get rebuilt every year, with changing themes (this year it’s Ancient Egypt). Considering there isn’t a solid barrier separating visitors from exhibits, I’m quite surprised someone hasn’t simply pummelled the sand yet.

Sakura in Kurihama

It may be a little early, but certain species of cherry blossoms (sakura) actually fully bloom a little outside the famous “mankai” period, including these just on the side of the road in Kurihama (south of Yokohama and Yokosuka).
