Gosho Aoyama Manga Factory

While Aoyama-san made other manga series, undoubtedly most would know him for Detective Conan. Series fans definitely must make a day trip to Conan Town, stroll up Conan-dori (and visit the eateries and shops alongside) and finish with a long visit to GAMF, full of attractions, replicas and memorabilia!

Statues of Conan Town

Hokuei in Tottori has really branded themselves around two major things: Detective Conan (Case Closed) and Watermelons – their local fruit speciality. Makes sense for the former since its renowned author, Gosho Aoyama, was born and raised there. The statues scattered around town are just one of the ways it rebranded around Conan – with Conan Road, Conan Bridge and even the town’s train station – Conan Station! The copper statues look weathered but solid, and the painted statues really look pristine!

Daddy ! Daddy ! Do !

I first caught wind of Masayuki Suzuki’s songs as the opening to the Kaguya-sama: Love is War anime series. This one has a weird title at first, but damn if it isn’t catchy.

Gundam Factory Yokohama

Opened during the inopportune time of COVID as a temporary attraction, I’m glad to have seen it before it’s impending closure at the end of this month. If you’re in Tokyo/Yokohama anytime this month, book a ticket for your chance to see the world’s largest mobile humanoid robot (per Guinness)!

Bling-Bang-Bang-Born

I’ve never read the manga or seen the show, but the opening song and video really got into my head this past week.

We Are Number One (Japanese Version)

Look out for the Touhou reference!

Been a while since I shared something that isn’t a photo I took, but this popped up on my feed and brought back a ton of memories when this song was super viral. If you were in the WANO craze a few years ago, you’ll appreciate the effort and quality that went into making this.

Indoors 4 – Anime Figurines

Yes, you can judge my taste all you want. No, I will still like the show.
